PROGRAM

We have opened a new educational and outdoor institute for the 21st Century, located in the South Pacific in the wondrous island country of New Zealand. StoneFire NZ: The School Down Under joins young people ages 16-19 with energized mentors for an authentic journey of self-revelation.

The program is built upon on the same basic educational principles and concepts that our Director used during his 20 years as Headmaster of the Santa Barbara Middle School:

Intense and relevant academic opportunities
State-of-the-art technology
Vast array of hands-on projects and activities
Strong community experience
Live together with openness and respect
Focus on the larger world
Honor and support for different learning styles
• Outdoor adventure and cultural explorations

The approach of StoneFire NZ is to widen the scope of learning activities, providing exemplary mentorship and potent academic progress balanced with outdoor adventure and a close-knit community.

We offer an intimate educational experience designed to engage participants in learning at all levels: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. The word education literally means “to draw out,” indicating that true education involves helping each of us to recognize and develop our own innate abilities. That’s why the program at StoneFire NZ begins with goal setting and progress analysis with a advisor. On-line courses mixed with outdoor adventure and hands-on-learning allow each learner to proceed at their own rate, one-on-one tutorials address individual needs and discussion sections ignite opinions and questions. These methods are designed to increase learner confidence, motivation and integration of knowledge.
